I usually struggle with mermaid styles because my hips are wide, but this fabric has just enough give to be comfortable while still holding its shape. The color was exactly like the picture, which is rare. The only reason I'm not giving it a perfect score is that the lining was a tiny bit bunchy around the waist, but once I steamed it really well, it smoothed out.

The slit in the front adds just enough drama without being too revealing for a formal event.Shipping was decent too, it arrived with a few days to spare.

I decided to take a chance on this dress for a pageant opening number, and I'm glad I did. The movement of the skirt when you walk is fantastic because of that split front—it makes walking in heels so much easier than a standard tight mermaid gown. The structure in the bodice is actually pretty good; I didn't feel like I was going to have a wardrobe malfunction on stage. It is a very long dress, so unless you are super tall or wearing six-inch platforms, expect to get it hemmed. But the quality is definitely there. It held up through a long night of standing, walking, and sitting, and didn't wrinkle terribly. A really good find for the budget.
